Heatmor is a type of large, derived anteater(obviously). Their head and neck have become bare and armored, as well as along their spine, shoulders and belly. Their arms and claws are very robust, and their wrists have large, bony growths to better help break into the nests of their favored prey, Durant. Heatmor are specially designed to feed on these large, metal ants. They are able to feed on Durant thanks to specially evolved saliva glands and digestive tracts. Their saliva is naturally hot and by combining it with the fluid from their specialized fire glands, Heatmor are able to literally set their tongues on fire to melt through Durant's hard armor, and are protected from Durant's powerful bites by their own armored skin and thick pelts. Once their pierce the bugs armor, Heatmor feed on the cooked insides, and their stomachs use the stomach acid of the Durant to fuel their own fire glands. Since Heatmor can't produce fire on their own from birth, their young are fed Durants by their mother once they are weened off of milk. Heatmor young are vulnerable to predators, and seek protection by riding on their mothers back for the first 4-5 years of their lives. Adult Heatmor are protected by their sheer size, strength, armor, and gas. Yep, gas. Digesting Durants leads to some pretty noxious by-products, and Heatmor will literally dust their tails in their own feces. When threatened by a predator that isn't deterred by their flaming tongues and claws, they will shake their tails to release a cloud of noxious gas, like the exhaust of a car.

Upon seeing Arvalis' design of Durant, I wanted to draw Heatmor, since anteater's are my favorite animal.
